Bob Barboza and the Kids Talk Radio Sound Effects Orchestra will be performing at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California on December 16, 2012, Mayan Jazz Opera starts at 1:00 PM.  Admission is free.  This will be composer Bob Barboza’s second visual jazz opera.  His first was Cabo Verde Dreams. This was performed at California State University Long Beach.  His new Mayan Visual Jazz Opera is called, “Chaac the Rain God and Jaguar Boy.”  It was composed to celebrate the Molaa (The Museum of Latin American Art’s) Mayan Festival.  Barboza has plans to train students to perform in his jazz operas.  His next original jazz opera will be centered around ancient cave art.
